Under the supervision of the RN Unit Manager, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs as a licensed care giver and assumes responsibility and accountability for assigned residents/patients for a shift of duty in the departments you are qualified to work: Med/Surg, or other hospital units. The LPN adheres to the standards of care for the area, manages the environment to maintain resident/patient safety, and supervises the resident/patient care activity performance by nursing assistants. Follows all hospital policies and procedures. Performs duties as defined by the State Nurse Practice Act.

Job Requirements:

  • 1 year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a hospital setting (Med/Surg, or other hospital units). Less than 1 year considered with some prior hospital experience present.
  • Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
  • Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
  • Educates patients on surgical procedures.
  • Participates in discharge planning and patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
  • Other duties as assigned within an LPNs scope of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

    Licenses & Certifications: Current WA state LPN license prior to start date. Current BLS certification prior to start date. ACLS or other certifications required by facility or department.
